Have you ever said yes, and right after saying yes you realize you meant NO?
For example, your calendar is jam packed and that one friend who is only in town for one day calls and asks you to get coffee, and you say yes. Meanwhile spending way too much time shuffling up your day to make it all work. Familiar?
Saying YES when you mean NO.
One of the most important lessons I have learned and am still learning is to let my NO's be No's and my Yes's be Yes's.
Why does this matter? The energy it takes to live out of alignment with what you really want is one of THE biggest energy drains you can possibly dance with.
"An agreement is anything you have said you would do or anything you said would not do. Agreements are created between 2 or more people, whereas commitments are between you and the universe".
What I have noticed is that when I make an agreement with someone, even as simple as coffee at seven pm, and then I keep that agreement, I feel more alive as a result of doing what I say I am going to do. The same goes for myself, when I make a commitment to wake up and exercise before work, and I then do that, I feel better all day having honored my commitment.
My energy level goes up the more accurate I am with doing what I say I am going to do. After all trust is a bi product of consistently keeping agreements. The people I trust most in my life are the ones that do what they say they are going to do.
When I became more thoughtful about the concept of agreements and commitments as defined above, my energy level began to rise. By only really doing the things I wanted to do, I have way more energy to be present and available to what I have said Yes to instead of "getting through" what I really don't want to be doing.
As you go through your day, notice when you say YES and when you say NO and ask yourself if you are telling the truth. In my experience I gained a heap of energy being in integrity with what I really want on a regular basis.
My next few #WakeupWednesday posts are going to center around agreements and increasing energy as a result! looking forward to sharing more on the topic!
