#WakeUpWednesday Need more time? Generate it with these easy tips!

Have you ever said "I do not have time for that"?

If so, you are not alone,  me too! it's so easy to blame it on the clock, running out of time, is a very "normal" way people talk about their day. However, it does not have to be, I have discovered over the past decade of experimenting with time management a new way to look at time, and I want to share it with you.

I began by paying close attention to what gives me energy and what drains me.  It seemed to be if I wanted to get a handle on my time management, beginning with what I was actually doing  and how I felt during, was the first place to start.  To begin this process, I recommend journaling what you are actually doing and spending time on, often we don't realize what we are up to and for how long.

A trend began for me,  I noticed that when I hand picked my activities and time spent with people that I have total YES's to spending time with, I felt energized, and when I had a NO to something, and I did it anyways... I felt tired and drained after.

Hers is what I learned:  When I say YES to someone/something and put My heart in it, I feel fulfilled, energized and My vitality increases. By choosing the people, places and things I spend my time on wisely, I naturally have more time.

Today, whenever I find myself in a crunch with time, I look at what I am doing and if there is anything I am doing that I really don't want to do... almost always there is something that can go!  and when I let go of what I really do not want, more space opens up for what I want to be doing.

To create a more energizing relationship with the clock, only do things that you have YES's to... by doing this, you will energize yourself and the bi product is time expands, you will have more time to do what you really want to do.

If this topic internets you, there are a lot of resources out there on time management and also shifts in your perspective around time. I would be happy to share more, message me for more details about relationship to time.

The World Beyond Facebook #TotallyTrendyTuesday

In the world of "the internet of things", social has become a big moving ship with lots of expectations and assumptions.  There are many different social platforms calling out "come play with me" and as a business operator how do you decide where to put your energy?

I can empathize with all the day to day demands of health club operators and how it could be difficult to decide where to find extra time to post on social platforms.

With the increased demand to have a presence in more than one place, it has become increasingly more obvious that the days of a website and a facebook have come to an end.

It is time to get social, health clubs!

I love this slide from Bryan O'Rourke's presentation at IHRSA 2015, it is a very visually appealing "at a glance" of the six largest social players health clubs need a presence on to be relevant today.

What I love about this slide is the simplistic nature of what platform has what and the primary users and relevance. If you operate a health club it would be wise to have a solid, streamlined message across all six of these platforms.

There are a lot of other tools out there, YouTube, Foursquare, Snap Chat, but for now, focus on these six as your primary voice box and it will go a long way.

What do you think, does having a presence beyond Facebook yield big returns for your club?

I would enjoy hearing form you!

cheers!
